Painting

My paintings are impressionistic; the paint is applied loose with expressive brushstrokes and a color palette that looks brighter by using contrasting complementaries. I began painting when I was eleven years old. My fifth grade teacher Dorthey Boydston noticed that I had artistic talent and encouraged my parents to give me art lessons.   In my youth I took private art training from a woman named Marriam Lutzky Baker.  M L Baker was trained in the Russian impressionist tradition by Vincent Farrell.  Fortunately, my early training was fundamentally based on core principals. I continued my art education at Brigham Young University where I received a Bachelor and Master Degree in Fine Art. (MFA 1990) I have enjoyed painting my entire life.
